accounting for books

i just realised that over the years, i have spent a small fortune on books (ie romance novels).. i currently have about 50++ historical romance novels and contemporary romance novels and on average, each novel cost around $15+/-.

more than 1/2 of my novels are bought from 2nd hand bookshop while about 20 novels are bought first hand..

the 50++ novels i mentioned above are not inclusive of books that i have returned back to the 2nd hand bookshop and teenage love stories that i bought when i was still in secondary school. so i have roughly spent about $1000 on novels?? *gasp* i think i am going to faint...

P.S. its not that i don't want to borrow the books from the library, but Singapore National Library doesn't have the books of the authors i like.. so that doesn't leave me with much choices.. either i buy 1st hand books or 2nd hand books.. and obviously, 2nd hand books are cheaper and most importantly, if i don't like the book, i can return the book back and get back part of the money!
