What a horrid start for a new week.
Initially, it was planned that today was movie day. I wanted to watch the movie called "Painted Skin" but the plan was cancelled this morning because I felt that I will have a bad (period) cramp.
True enough, not long after I called my BF to cancel, my cramp started to havoc and came in spasms, and soon I was denched in sweat.
That's not the end... After applying some medicated oil to my tummy, barely 5 mintues later, I rushed to the toilet bowl and begun puking out some of my breakfast... or rather, the oil from my breakfast.. I had the famous Tiong Bahru que kweh (<--don't know how to spell it) and the oily raddish topping sat in my stomach made me felt uncomfortable.
I shall go rest now maybe try to sleep a bit..

Gmarket haul #1
my haul from a Korean website called Gmarket... my loots came from different sellers.. if i'm ain't wrong, i bought from 5 sellers. these 5 different sellers then shipped my orders to the Gmarket main office where all my orders are shipped as one parcel to me.
let the pictures shall speak for itself.. :)
(all the goodies i bought, unwrapped, surprisingly, it doesn't seemed
to look as much as i thought it would be..)
(castledew colorshot eyes 4 color in #3)
(castledew extreme pearl eyes #9252, #9931 & GD242
with a free case that fits 3 single shadows)
(horseshoe necklace - it looks much prettier irl)
(flower necklace - the horseshoe one is prettier!)
(free gifts that came with the necklaces)
(Jadilla J Lip gloss in #3 and a free concealer)
sidetrack a bit.. i was quite disappointed when i opened up the box to find such a bright reddish shade of pink... from the pictures, i presumed the color to be less bright and more purplish pink than red.. hopefully it will not look as red when applied.
(etude house mascara set - consisting of mirror, mascara fixer [for perfect lash], a mascara & eye makeup remover)
(etude house blush brush)
(etude house peach beam blushers #01 & #02)
(etude house romantic beauty box)
(free gifts that the etude house seller gave~!)
that's all~~ not alot lahz.. aiming for the etude house primer and foundation for my next purchase.
the shipment came pretty fast! i ordered on the 16th, made payment on 18th evening, and it arrived yesterday morning! my parcel from Korea to Singapore took lesser than 3 days.

sun-safety quiz part 3
please read from
part 1 &
part 29) When does sunscreen expire?
Answer:
After three yearsWhy?Unless the expiry date says otherwise, sunscreen lasts for up to three years. If, however, you keep the bottle in your car on hot summer days, the heat will cause the sunscreen compounds to break down, which means your sunscreen won't last as long.
10) Darker lenses on sunglasses offer better protection from ultraviolet rays than do lighter sunglass lenses.
Answer:
FalseWhy?The shade of the lens doesn't tell you whether it protects your eyes from the sun's rays. In fact, you won't be able to see any difference between lenses that block the ultraviolet rays and those that don't.
Look for a manufacturer's label that says the sunglasses block 99 percent or 100 percent of all ultraviolet light. To be even more effective, choose sunglasses that fit close to your face or have wraparound frames that block sunlight from all angles.
How well did you fare? Managed to get all the questions right??
Hope these 3 posts increased your knowledge about sun care!

graduation ceremony
A few days ago, I received a letter from ACCA/ICPAS regarding my graduation ceremony. It will be held on Saturday, 1 Nov 2008 and the location is at Raffles City Convention Centre! The best part is that, we have to pay to attend the ceremony!! =_=""
Graduation Fee
$220 (inclusive of 1 guest)
Additional Guest ticket at
$55 each!
So expensive!!!
Initially, before I received this letter, I really wanted to go, for this is like an once in the lifetime kinda thing and besides, I didn't go for my poly graduation ceremony years ago. And I will also get to wear the robe (?? what is it called anyway?).
But for the price of $220, its not worth it. From what I heard from my BF, the robe only cost arond $40 to buy... Not to mention that, none of my friends will be graduating so it wouldn't be any fun for me..
Most probably, I'll be skipping it.

sun safety quiz part 2
continued from sun safety quiz
part 1...
5) The darker your skin color, the less you need to worry about sun protection.
Answer:
FalseWhy? Anyone can develop skin cancer, even those with darker pigmented skin. For this reason, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends that all people take precautions against sun exposure, regardless of their skin type or color.
6) How much sunscreen should you apply?
Answer:
Enough to fill a shot glassWhy?The American Academy of Dermatology recommends that adults use an ounce of sunscreen to cover all exposed areas – the amount that fills a shot glass.
7) On cool or cloudy days, you still need a sunscreen.
Answer:
TrueWhy?According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, up to 40 percent of the sun's UV rays reaches the earth on a completely cloudy day. This is the reason people often end up with sunburns on overcast days after spending all day outdoors with no sun protection.
8) Wearing sunscreen can cause vitamin D deficiency.
Answer:
FalseWhy?Although sunlight helps our body make vitamin D, we get plenty of this nutrient through vitamin D-rich foods such as milk and fortified orange juice and everyday sun exposure, says the American Academy of Dermatology.
Plus, even if you're wearing sunscreen, small amounts of UV rays still penetrate your skin, and that's more than enough to help your body produce vitamin D.
Are you applying enough sunscreen?? Or do you even apply sunscreen at all?? Well, I do. Everyday without fail (well.. sometimes I do forget to apply it on my arms though.. O_O).. on my face, neck and even my arms (that's why sometimes my skin feels a little sticky).
I shall divulge this interesting piece of fact... the skin tone on my arm is at least 2 shades fairer than my stomach... I credit it all to sunscreen.. I have been faithfully applying sunscreen for the past 2 years.

sick
for the past 2.5 days I have down with flu and fever.. :( Have to take MC for 2 days (my MC is no pay, because I'm still on probation >_<).. Feeling so miserable because my nose is blocked and I can only breathe through my mouth... my medical bills cost $85!!!!!!! *fainted*
(Why only 2.5 days and not 3 days is because I only started to feel sick on monday evening)
I don't know if this is considered a good or bad thing, but I just purchased some goodies off the net (again!!).

Sun Safety Quiz Part 1
How much do you know about sun-safety?? Continue reading to find out whether you have been doing it right all these while.. :)
1) A suntan is fine, as long as you don't burn.
Answer:
FalseWhy??While even one sunburn may double the chance of eventually developing melanoma (the most serious type of skin cancer), you are still at risk even if you never burn. Both burning and tanning damage the DNA of skin cells. This damage sometimes leads to skin cancer. In other words, the more sun you get, the more likely you are to develop certain skin cancers.2) To get sufficient UV protection, you should choose a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least
15.
Why?Make sure your sunscreen offers at least SPF 15. SPF ratings indicate how much longer you may be protected from sunburn than you would be if no sunscreen were applied. For instance, if your unprotected skin normally starts turning red in 20 minutes, using a product with SPF 15 will theoretically prevent burning 15 times as long — or about five hours.3) If you're planning to spend time outdoors, you should apply sunscreen
half hour before leaving.
Why?Sunscreens should be applied 30 minutes before sun exposure to allow the ingredients to fully bind to the skin.4) You should reapply waterproof sunscreen
every 2 hours.
Why?All sunscreens become less effective after about two hours – even waterproof ones. To make sure you stay covered, reapply every two hours, especially after you've been swimming, or sweating or doing something that can wipe off sunscreen, like toweling off.quiz taken from http://www.shoppinglifestyle.com/quiz/sunsafety/

13th sep
This week has flew passed and today is already saturday!!! It has been a rather busy week. My manager and other managers has discussed about my jop scope and finally I was given a list of my jop scope. My job list includes about 10 items.. =_="" *fainted*
I was kept extremely busy with my duties, transport claims, vendor reconciliations, non-patient billings, passing journals.. but, mainly centered on the transport claims.. checking the transport claim forms submitted to me, answering phone calls regarding the claims, getting scoldings because of these claims (this is the part I dread most)... I don't like picking up the phones, at the moment, those people who called/calls me, their topic will confirm be regarding the transport claims...
The only highlight of the week was, my Boss asked me to tag along to a meeting, and although I didn't speak more than 20 words during the meeting (haha, I was more like an audience during the meeting), I gained more knowledge about my company's business, which is a good thing. But the bad thing is that, amidst the conversations between the company's directors and the external members I was totally lost at some parts...
I also made a few blunders this week.. the more significant ones I can think right now are:
- Sent an email without a subject
- For the same email, instead of CC-ing I BCC-ed.. -_-"
- Posted an entry twice
- Reversed out a correct entry due to my blur-ness
Lastly, I think I need to brush up on my conversational skills... Must speak like a professional... Speak proper english or mandrain.. No singlish, hokkien or cantanose on the phone or with my direct manager (my department has 3 managers, and I mainly report to only 1). Remain cool, calm and level-headed at all times... Don't let fierce people intimidate me... Stand firm on my grounds....
I'm sadly lacking in alot of areas right now and really need to pull up my socks!
I want to go on a shopping spree!!! I want to go spa! Go for a haircut!! Facial!!!!! >_<

my first day...........
Today, I officially started as an accounts executive in SHP. Well, almost officially… it can only be truly considered official after my medical results have come out and I have passed. (Btw, through the medical checkup, I got to know that my spine is slightly crooked… :( >_<)
Frankly, as of today, there isn’t any difference in my job scope mainly because my bosses haven’t discussed about it yet so therefore, I continued from where I left last Friday. The main difference is my dressing… I wore a long-sleeved collared blouse and black pants with a pair of 3-inches high-heeled pumps! I am so totally not used to wearing heels!!!
Omg, my feet really suffered today! With every step I took, I felt the impact on my feet and legs. Did I mention about my toes?! They were so squashed! Wearing heels is definitely hard work! I had to lift my legs higher when I climbed the steps, so that my heels would not hit the steps. I had to walk slower that usual as my feet hurts and also because I had to try to balance and at the same time to be cautious not to step on the drains, blah blah blah… its pure torture! But truthfully, I love the extra height it gave me! Instead growth spurt! Hahaha~~ something that I need badly. I want to grow taller!!!! >.<
Enough of self-pity for today, tomorrow I still have to go to work in the heels and luckily, I found a pair of jelly-like “foot pads” to cushion the base of the feet and toes and hopefully my feet will be happier!
Something that brightened my day today is that, the semi-handsome trainer (I think his title is trainer) from Fuji Xerox came over to my company today… hehe… why is he only “semi-handsome”? well that’s because he is not exactly that gorgeous or drool worthy but he’s much better looking than the guys in my office! Hahaha~~
